WEAD MEMBERSHIP EXHIBITION
EXHIBITION: SEPTEMBER 18 - OCTOBER 24, 2021

Artists Deliver work: Tuesday September. 14 – Wednesday, September 15
Artists Pick up work: Sunday October 24 or Monday October 25
EXTRACTION, Art on the Edge of the Abyss, is a massive exhibition being produced independently within 46 art spaces nationwide from 2019 through 2022 with the purpose of focusing awareness and action on the wanton overuse of Earth’s resources.

As one of the participating art organizations, WEAD will be mounting an exhibition: “From Extraction to Restoration and Regeneration” by its members at GALLERY ROUTE ONE, Pt. Reyes Station, CA.
The Exhibition Committee is currently accepting submissions from member artists working in any medium whose work is closely aligned with this theme. Individual pieces or installations should not exceed 5’ x 6’. Extraction can cover a wide range of subjects, from mono-cropping of palm oil at the expense of diverse tropical forests; to massive open pit mines; to indiscriminate mining of the sea with vast driftnets; to extracting microbial life from the soil via industrial agricultural methods. Work can also address restorative solutions to problems created by extraction in its many forms.

The WEAD Exhibition committee and a potential guest curator will select work from member artists for this Gallery Route One event.
Exhibiting artists should be prepared to deliver work to the gallery on Tuesday September 14 or Wednesday September 15, and to pick up on Sunday October 24 or on Monday October 25.
