Two Day Raku Workshop

Cost: $175 WEAD members, $200 non members. Materials supplied.

Raku Ceramic two day workshop includes:
Day 1 (March 31st 10-4pm) : Learn about raku and how to make work especially for raku.
2 wheels are available for those who throw. All others will hand build. All are welcome to bring bisqued work from home.
Day 2 (April 7th 10-4pm): Glaze and Fire Bisqued work.
Bring bag lunch, dried leaves, and dress appropriately for firing.

Reuse/Remelt/Recreate:
Creating recycled glass tableware using solar run grid feedback kilns

Location: West Berkeley glass studio near 5th and Channing
Cost: $200 WEAD members, $250 non members. All materials and firing included.
Class limited to 8 people.
Join us to make bowls and plates out of repurposed glass from windows and tables. Learn how to cut, sandblast and fuse window glass. Everyone will finish at least two plates and two bowls. No previous glass experience needed, only patience, care and curiosity.
Safety: All participants need to wear closed toed shoes and pants. Safety glasses are provided. No use of cell phone ear buds while working with glass.

This workshop will be centered on working collaboratively and using salvaged and/or organic materials to express eco ideas.
The site is the front yard of gorgeous historic concrete block building in downtown Healdsburg. The workshop will culminate in one month exhibit with credit for participants on highly visible signage. Participants must return to disassemble installations when time.
