Brooms

Hanging from the ceiling in the second gallery are six 14 ft. black brooms made of plastic, each tied in a knot. In Pre-Hispanic Mexico sweeping of the temples was considered sacred and only performed by priests and priestesses as cleansing rituals and today this ritual continues as part of cleansing outside the home or business.
