I use an Oriental brush (1) for watercolor landscapes and (2) for minimalist sumi ink painting of animals. I often paint out-of-doors from direct observation. I developed and taught a class that uses the Oriental brush to catch the geture of any subject, particularly animals. This class tends to enhance drawing skill. I publish my paintings as art prints.
