In my art, I incorporate my interest in nature with my interest in psychology, science, metaphysics and Eastern spiritual thought. My ongoing series of work, Nature Re-Collected: A Journey to the Interior is an exploration of a large collection of natural objects. In this series, I combine elements of nature such as stones and shells with sculpture and wall panels. The works often have hidden compartments which include small narrative paintings/collages of journeys into nature.

A recent installation (2004) involving a threatened species, the Atlantic Sturgeon, was the first work I have done with a direct reference to the ecology. From this experience I have become particularly interested in working with others and across disciplines to actively encourage the realization of a deep interconnection between humans and the more-than-human world.
