Patricia Bulitt
Has performed in and around East Bay Creeks for several years. Produces annual storytelling tea party for girls 8-years-oId and older as part of Creek Week in Berkeley. Desires to take storytelling tea party as site-specific piece to different watersheds. Collecting women's and girls' stories of the women who influenced their lives, as we are the girls and women of this watershed, and these are our stories. The tea party is an interdisciplinary art event. As a public art event it commemorates place and imagination through women's and girls storytelling and imaginative arts such as dance, visual art and scripted poetry. Honors include: NEA Choreography Fellowship; California Arts Council grantee. Exhibit-performances include: Headlands Center for the Arts, CA; American Museum of Natural History, NYC; Yaska Shrine, Kyoto, Japan; Nara National Women's University, Nara, Japan; Volcano Art Center, Volcano Hawaii; Portland State University, Portland, OR. Also: Project Director and Dance ethnographer for dance/photography project with Eskimos in Alaska for more than 20 years |
